Bourbon Society of Baton Rouge (BSOBR) Twice Blessed The Trinity Screw Cancer
Today, I was given the opportunity to review the Bourbon Society of Baton Rouge’s 2024 Screw Cancer pick. Once again, this year’s selection is a partnership with Sugarfield Spirits in Gonzales, LA. Although, the bottle comes with a premium price of $175, $80 of each sale goes to Pancreatic Cancer Research. As always, the bottle comes in a marvelous keepsake box.
This year’s selection is a blend of straight bourbon whiskey finished in cognac, sherry, and liqueur barrels. It has a unique blend of different finishes while offering some strong scotch notes. With its enhanced flavors, this pick is another home run for the BSOBR.

4.75 out of 5 Stars!!!
Solid, solid, solid as usual from BSOBR. As a scotch enthusiast, this has all the makings of a scotch without the malt. Honey, sweet dates, and the cognac finish work well to balance the dryness with sweetness. The flavors hide the normal bourbon notes but in a good way. This pour knocks it out of the park, not just for the cause, but with its complexity. The blend is perfectly balanced for an end product that feels like an early morning reward after breakfast.
